My Fitness Journey

Fitness has been a big part of my life since I joined my first gym 20 years ago. Lifting weights was a huge confidence booster for me, and physically helped me feel aware of how my body moved. It provided ease of daily activity, and eliminated my back pain!

When I was in my 20’s and lifting, gaining muscle and maintaining definition was easy. It seemed like I could eat whatever and as much as I wanted, and I didn’t increase my body fat. That started to slip as I got older, and hormones started to play a big role in how my body was responding to diet and exercise. It is a rollercoaster, but it is doable to manage. My experiences has changed the way I coach and how I guide women through the different challenges they are facing. It isn’t about just the diet and exercise anymore. Motivation isn’t the problem. The problem is the habits you hold, and your mindset. Once you can break the barriers here, the goals you are reaching for become more attainable.

Life Outside of Fitness

While fitness has always been a passion of mine in my adult life, I did spend 20 years as an animal care professional, working with wildlife. Having spent time working with rehabilitation centers for birds of prey, and as a licensed falconer, I fell in love with these incredible animals. That is how the name RaptorFit came to be.

After 20 years I was ready for a change, and knew that fitness was my new focus. I am a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, specializing in corrective exercise. I also work at another gym, giving one on one sessions, teaching circuit, core, and HIIT classes.

 

Launching RaptorFit Personal Training

I want to empower you to change your habits and your mindset. I want you to learn how to lift weights and challenge you to lift heavier, and to feel comfortable and safe while lifting. I can help you achieve your weight loss goals by combining strength training, cardio, and nutrition advice to guide you through a lifestyle change.

I have various programs available from one on one sessions, where you have the convenience of me coming to you. An online course you can access from your computer or phone and follow at home or at your gym. And a 12 week online program where we work together through Zoom chats, weekly homework, and a customized program designed for you.
